Lonnie Rainey, aka; "Snake" or "Snake Eye" is a native of Flint,
Michigan born in 1968 Snake grew to be a teenager in the early years
of a new era of music called Rap. Snake Eye was inspired by a group known
as "Intersoul Expression" when he saw them playing local block parties.
So much so, he eventually he started helping friends who displayed a
talent for rapping by investing in them and helping to get them in the
studio to record. It was only a matter of time before Snake Eye ended up
in a group himself. That group was “The Henchmen” and they were tearing it
up. Word got out to Sony's A&R and The Henchmen were signed to Sony/BMG.
They went out on tour in the midwest, but fame didn’t last long for them
because the members couldn’t see eye to snake eye, pardon the pun. But,
Snake Eye went on to form “The Northside Clicks” with fellow rappers E-moe,
Paine and Lil Willie. They performed locally and had a song make it to
number 2 on the local charts at 92.7 and 107.1 FM. Although he had seen
more success then most young rappers in the area, Snake Eye came to
realize that for him it was more about the business of music then
performing and he decided to form Snake Eye Records and utilize the
industry contacts he had made over the years. Contact like Clive Davis,
Ton Gilardi, Jermaine Dupree, Eugene, Norm Coleman and King Benj-I.
Snake Eye now 39 years of age is happily married
with 5 children and three grand children and resides in Flint, Michigan.
